Newnan will be celebrating the arrival of October, as well as local business, as soon as the month begins.
Oktoberfest highlights craft breweries and also includes some other small companies, often with beer-related products. Shops in the festival area will typically extend their hours during the event as well. Each store will serve as a venue for different beers that attendees can sample. In addition, they will have extra goodies, sales, and free refreshments. These are only for those attending Oktoberfest.
The number of available spots for the special dinner being offered this year have been limited to 450, and sales began on September 1. Tickets including the meal will cost $30, with an additional $3 fee. The event is free for those who will not be drinking alcohol.
When signing in, guests will be given a special commemorative beer mug featuring a unique event graphic design, along with a brochure full of information about the festival. In order to attend and drink, an individual must have their photo ID proving they are 21 or older, which must be valid. Once allowed in, those guests will have a stamp put on their wrists.
For anyone who wishes to take a ride home, there will be Lyft and Uber services available.
Oktoberfest takes place in downtown Newnan on October 1 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Registration will be at the Carnegie Library from 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm. No tickets will be scanned after this time period.
