Members of the public are invited to be a part of an evening that will showcase traditional music and dance from Scotland, and the audience will be invited to take to the dance floor to try out some of their new moves.
For the past four years, Newnan has celebrated the life of the famous Scottish poet Robert Burns with a weekend filled with themed activities. This year’s evening will feature Scottish folk music, and includes instruction from the owner of Southern Arc Dance. Paulo Manso deSousa will teach the steps for both couples and line dancing, and light refreshments will be handed out to the crowd.
The evening will kick off at 8:00 pm, and it will be taking place in Southern Arc Dance Center’s ballroom. As part of Robert Burns Weekend, it will celebrate the connection between Newnan and its sister city of Ayr in Scotland. The registration fee is $8 each, and tickets can be purchased ahead of time by anyone who would like to participate. Poster printing can be used to prepare materials to promote an event like this, which can help to generate public interest in the occasion.
Southern Arc Dance will be offering this evening of physically active fun on February 1. Its location can be found at 40 Greenway Court in Newnan.
