The Newnan City Council voted in favor of updating the facility use policies and making changes to the rental fees that are paid for the use of the city’s facilities.
The board also voted in favor of setting up a cancellation policy for people or groups that wish to use the Wadsworth Auditorium. According to City Manager Hasco Carver, the new policy makes it possible for renters to cancel reservations made at the auditorium. Carver said this was because the staff was previously unable to rent the space to other interested parties if previous reservations were canceled. The security deposit for Wadsworth Auditorium will increase to $500 under the new policy.
The new cancellation policy will give people the opportunity to cancel their reservations at least 60 days before the reservation date. Cancellations made within 60 days would result in a forfeiture of half the deposit and payment for AV services. Cancellations made 30 days to the reservation date will result in forfeiting the entire deposit. Staff also came up with new rental fees and deposit fees for Wadsworth. Changes to fee structures can be shared with poster printing.
The new policy for parks shows that booking fees would include a $100 deposit, a rental fee of $10 per hour, $50 per day, $245 per week and $750 for the month. The security deposits will be refunded as long as no damage is caused by the event.
