The 2019 Stop the Violence Parade and Rally is scheduled to march through Newnan this weekend, raising awareness of the issue of violence.
This will be the fourth time that the rally will be held in Newnan. It will start at Newnan’s Central Education Center and head down towards Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. From there, the marchers will pivot onto Pinson Street and keep going onto Savannah Street. The Parade is expected to finish outside the Howard Warner Community Center.
Local banner printing companies have been hired to Print extra-large Banners with ‘Stop the Violence’ printed on them for people to carry while they march.
The goal of this parade is to raise awareness about the different kinds of violence affecting people all over the community. Dephanie Hill, the founder of the parade, hopes that the parade will make people aware of how this issue is having adverse effects on friends and neighbors alike. The more people who are aware of them, the better prepared the community is to deal with them.
People attending the rally will be able to listen to guest speeches from Sharon Foster and Altregia Jordan. The parade’s lineup will start at 11:30 am tomorrow morning, April 13, and the march will start an hour later.
Food, drinks and games will be available at the rally.
