Mableton’s Mable House Barnes Amphitheatre is hosting a night of jazz music with musicians Will Downing, Najee, and Ken Ford this July.
Downing, a vocalist, has been putting out albums for decades and is also involved with social causes and photography, the latter of which he has collected into a book called Still Sounds, featuring black-and-white and color images of fellow artists and musicians.
Najee, a soprano saxophonist and multi-instrumentalist, has been incorporating elements of rhythm and blues and jazz since he burst onto the New York music scene in 1986. His albums have garnered Grammy nominations and gold-certified sales.
The performance is rounded out with Ford, a musician who made the unlikely leap from working in the field of information technology to being a full-time violinist working with world-famous peers.
Ford’s career highlights include performing for U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama and sharing the studio with the likes of everyone from the late Barry White to modern hit-makers like Bruno Mars, Cee-Lo Green, and Erykah Badu.
Music festivals like this may choose to use banner printing to create Signs for vendors, venues, and marquees.
An Evening of Jazz is happening on Sunday, July 12, with doors open at 6:00 pm and the show at 7:00 pm, at the Mable House Barnes Amphitheatre at 5239 Floyd Road in Mableton.
