Mableton hosting annual fundraising jog

The annual Jonquil City Jog, a 5,000-metre charity race, will be coming to Smyrna in April. Residents of nearby Mableton that wish to compete in this race may be interested in registering for it.

The route is USATF certified, with a start and finish at City Hall. The jog primarily follows Atlanta Road and is flat, fast, and family-friendly for runners. Runners may wish to run to achieve an AJC Peachtree Road Race Qualifying time.

All those who finish in first place in their respective categories will be given one of Kenny’s Key Lime pies. There will be additional awards for the overall and masters men’s and women’s finishers, as well as the top three male and female finishers in a range of age groups. All those participating in the 1K Fun Run and the Trot Trot will be given finisher ribbons.

Proceeds from the race will benefit Support Smyrna and the Campbell High School Educational Foundation. Such races and their fundraising efforts are often promoted throughout a city and surrounding communities with poster printing.

The race will take place on Saturday, April 15. The day will begin at 7:00 am with number pick-ups for pre-registered participants, although additional registration opportunities will be available. The 5k jog will begin at 8:00 am, with the 1k Fun Run to start an hour later. The Trot Trot will begin at 9:15 am.
