Mableton to hold citywide celebration

The second annual Taste of Mableton will be held in the middle of next month, hosted by the Mableton Improvement Coalition.

This is an all-day event that will begin with a parade, departing from the shopping center at Mableton Walk and ending at the Mable House Complex on Floyd Road. There will be vendors, food options, live performances, giveaways, interactive exhibits, and a fun zone for children. Such events are often promoted throughout a community and the surrounding areas with poster printing.

Event Manager for the Taste of Mableton and Economic Development Chair, Dr. Maxine Wilson, said the day’s event will focus on the theme of “One Mableton,” which is designed to highlight what the city can offer and to celebrate it being the largest and newest city in the county. Dr. Wilson added that the event will also offer an opportunity for civic organizations, businesses, and residents of the area to come together and focus on the strongest characteristics of the community, which include collation, deep relationships in the community, and collective engagement.

The president of the Mableton Improvement Coalition, Ray Thomas, said that Mableton has long been known for its welcoming and vibrant community, and he is looking forward to this year’s event.

The Taste of Mableton will take place from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on Saturday, April 15.
