Battle of the marching bands comes to Mableton area

The Mableton area’s South Cobb High School is hosting a marching band competition with regional schools this November.

Dubbed the 3rd Annual Grand Royale Marching Band Invitational, the event is presented by the D Dub Arts Foundation and Soaring Sound of South Cobb and features 14 high school marching bands taking to the field in a battle to see who is the best.

People are encouraged to attend while representing their team with band colors in the spirit of school pride for a night of friendly competition.

Each school is expected to bring their A-game both in terms of musical precision and representing a culture of high-energy performance, with each ticket ranging from $20-$30.

The D Dub Arts Foundation is an organization that facilitates music-based charity events, including talent showcases, contests, and other programs involving youth. The foundation has helped to bring over 100 Battle of the Bands competitions to life.

With the help of sponsors like VyStar Credit Union, Stanbury, Sweet Snack Creamery, Watkins Funeral Home and The Modeling Group, the D Dub Arts Foundation has helped dozens of students connect with college band programs and further their music education.

Marching band competitions like this may choose to use printing services to create portable music sheets, marching instructions, and setlists.

The event is on Saturday, November 7 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm at South Cobb High School at 1920 Clay Rd SW in Austell.
