Gainesville sets date for Touch a Truck Day

Gainesville requires a variety of vehicles during its day-to-day operations, and a selection of these will be on full display during a special activity organized for the city.

The city is set to get the fun rolling with its Touch a Truck celebration, and families will find it set up in the parking area at Gainesville Middle School East Campus. It will be open to the public for three hours, and all ages may take part.

The activity will include a variety of heavy and first responder equipment and vehicles, and the kids can climb in and onto them, finding out how they operate. They can honk their horns, see the lights, and meet some of the people who use them. Music and food will be on offer as well.

A touch-a-truck event gives people of all ages an insiders’ view into the day-to-day running of their home city, and they may also be a lot of fun. Promotional Pens and other giveaway items can be prepared for an activity by area Print shops.

Gainesville Parks and Recreation has scheduled its Touch a Truck Day for Saturday, March 28. Advance registration is not needed. The day will kick off at 10:00 am and run until 1:00 pm. The event is free to attend and there is no need to register.
