Blues and Q, an upcoming family evening of live music, activities, and barbecue in Gainesville, will raise money for Forsyth County Community Connection (FCCC).
The charitable organization is dedicated to empowering children and families by providing vital programs, resources and support. Over the last 12 years, the FCCC has increased its number of available area foster care homes from 7 to 49 and is working to increase that number.
The FCCC also funds training for new foster parents, advocates for child safety, and operates a resource center for homeless young people. Partnering with community groups and government agencies, as well as receiving support from fundraising events, is key to the organization’s success.
Blues and Q will feature the live sounds of the band Pangaea. Evening activities will include corn hole, axe throwing, and, weather permitting, tethered hot air balloon rides.
Ticketholders will be able to enjoy complimentary craft beer, wine, and bourbon paired with barbecue and Southern-styled fare. Funds will not only be raised through ticket sales and sponsors but also from raffles and a silent auction.

Blues and Q will be held on Saturday, August 15 beginning at 6:00 pm at the Kinsey Family Farm, 7170 Jot-Em Down Road in Gainesville. Tickets are available on the event website.
