A cookie decorating session and storytime experience await Decatur residents seeking to kick off the holiday season in a cozy environment.
The Storytime and Cookie Decorating with Lisa Eickholdt has an official start date, and interested parties are welcome to attend next month. Eickholdt, an accomplished author, will be reading her latest children’s book, Merry Christmas Zoo, to area children to ensure a memorable holiday. Animal cookies will also be available for interested parties to decorate with icing and other pieces of flair.
The book will focus on the spirit of giving and builds off a Night Before Christmas theme. Attendees will learn about the true events that inspired the story while discovering the magic of Christmas and the holidays. Printing services are essential to raise awareness of such events while helping local authors create Copies of their published works.
Young readers will join Eickholdt on a journey that goes behind the scenes at the Zoo as Santa’s assistants prepare to surprise the elephants, tigers, and other animals with holiday gifts. Interested parties will be able to meet Eickholdt at the event and pre-order her newest book.
The reading and cookie decorating session will be held at the Little Shop of Stories on Friday, December 6th, from 5:00 PM until 6:00 PM. Tickets cost $5 online for each child and adult who registers.
