Jazzy holiday afternoon kicks off in Decatur

The holiday season in Decatur will strike a lively chord with the return of the 3rd Annual Jazzy Holiday Celebration, presented by Jazz Matters, Inc.

The afternoon event invites audiences to unwind to soulful rhythms and festive melodies led by bassist Edwin Williams alongside a talented ensemble featuring Shakia Garrett, Terry Dukes, J. Morris, and Kimarah “Free” Chanelle, among other special guests.

Designed especially for attendees aged 55 and older, the celebration offers more than live entertainment - it’s a community gathering that honors the warmth of the holidays through music, camaraderie, and the timeless joy of jazz. The concert continues the mission of Jazz Matters, Inc., which is a nonprofit organization founded by Edwin Williams. Jazz Masters Inc. aims to maintain jazz as a cultural craft form and introduce new audiences to its rich legacy. Through performances, educational outreach, and events like this one, the group works to “keep jazz alive” across generations.

General admission tickets are $25. Admission includes access to the full two-hour concert, and parking at the venue is free. Tickets can be purchased through the official event listing.

Event organizers may use poster printing to help promote community-centered celebrations like this one, offering a creative and effective way to showcase local culture and holiday spirit.

The 3rd Annual Jazzy Holiday Celebration will take place on Wednesday, December 10th, from 12 pm to 2 pm at the Porter Sanford III Performing Arts and Community Center, located at 3181 Rainbow Drive, Decatur, Georgia.
