Runners across metro Atlanta will have an opportunity to welcome the Lunar New Year with movement and community during the Lunar New Year Run. This event features a small-group race offering 5K, 10K, and half-marathon distances.
Unlike large-scale races, this run includes capped wave sizes and personalized coordination. Participants may run or walk, and all paces are encouraged, with minors permitted when accompanied by a guardian. Timing is optional, allowing runners to track results independently or with coordinator assistance, reinforcing the event’s focus on personal goals rather than competition.
Each registration includes a mailed race package featuring a commemorative running shirt, finisher’s medal, towel or giveaway item, digital training resources, online results, and a completion certificate. An optional technical performance shirt upgrade is available. Those unable to attend in person may select a virtual run option, which allows participants to complete the distance at their convenience.
Registration fees vary by distance. Discounted pricing is currently on offer, with the 5K priced at $37.37, the 10K at $42.18, and the half marathon at $45.06, each including applicable fees. The virtual run and family mile option is also priced at $37.37. No refunds are offered.
Organizers often rely on banner printing to promote community races through bold visuals that highlight cultural themes and encourage participation.
The in-person Lunar New Year Run will take place on Saturday, February 7, starting at 7:30 am along the South Peachtree Creek Trail in Decatur, Georgia. Specific trail details will be sent via email.
