Ruthie Foster to perform at Eddies Attic

Grammy-winning blues and soul artist Ruthie Foster will take the stage at Eddie’s Attic in Decatur this August.

The performance will follow Ruthie’s recent recognition at this year’s Grammy Awards, where her album Mileage earned the award for Best Contemporary Blues Album. The release also marked a milestone for Sun Records, securing the label’s first Grammy in its decades-long history.

Foster, whose music blends folk, blues, and gospel, is known for her powerful voice and emotionally resonant songwriting. A native of Texas, her early musical influences stemmed from gospel traditions in her family and church. Though she began her career out of the spotlight — writing songs and playing instruments for others — she eventually emerged as a solo singer after vocal performances with the U.S. Navy band Pride.
Her discography includes a string of studio releases, such as Runaway Soul, The Phenomenal Ruthie Foster, and Healing Time.

Tickets for the concert are currently available starting at $45.06. This is an all-ages event. Refunds are permitted up to 24 hours prior to the event under specific conditions, such as cancellations or rescheduling.
