New hires for City Schools of Decatur

David Dude, the Superintendent for City Schools of Decatur, has found replacements for a pair of staff members who both resigned at the end of 2019.

Adena Walker will now serve as the Director of Staff Support. Lonita Brooke is taking on the role of Executive Director of Finance and she started on 22nd April. Mrs. Boome used to work as the Chief Business Manager at the Atlanta Police Department and also held a role as the Executive Director of Business Services for Clayton County Public Schools.

Before the Superintendent was able to fill the roles, the responsibilities that came with the job were outsourced to a private company. Companies often order new sets of Business Cards when they hire new people.

Another new hire is Tiffany Lawrence who is the new Nutritional Director replacing Alisson Goodman who retired. According to the Superintendent, Lawrence has almost twenty years of experience working in the field of nutrition. She is also a graduate of Keller Graduate School of Management and Wales University. Before being appointed by the Superintendent, she used to work as Griffin-Spalding County Schools’ SNP Director.

The positions of principals at Westchester and Glennwood are yet to be filled. The process for finding the new principals involves interviews and completing a written task.

The board is still looking through applications for the new Executive Director of Operations to replace Noel Maloof.
