July webinar to help Decatur businesses get started

Next month, the Dekalb Chamber of Commerce will be seeking to help all Decatur and wider Georgia residents interested in starting their own business.

Through a partnership between the Chamber and the US Small Business Development Center, a webinar on how to start a business will be held. Chamber members (or future members) can attend to learn more about the various steps involved in creating a new business venture.

The seminar will review multiple components of starting a business, including:

• Getting started
• Trying to figure out if a business idea is feasible for the short and long term. For example, some business ideas – like starting a Print shop or pet care business – are in demand now and likely will be in the future
• How to find business financing, with an emphasis on finding financing in today’s economy
• Building a business team of competent professionals that can help prepare for the future
• Filing the necessary paperwork to protect a business idea

This class will ensure that individuals are ready to start their own businesses and are aware of the challenges they must meet to do so.

The webinar will be held on Tuesday, July 11, from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm. It is exclusively online, and there is no in-person component. Tickets are $39, and interested individuals can register by visiting the Chamber website.
