The Annual Decatur Fine Arts Exhibition, currently in its 33rd year, will bring together works from artists who use diverse styles and media to express themselves.
The exhibits will be judged for creativity and quality by a three-judge panel, and the event will no doubt interest anyone in the area with a love of art or graphic design.
Applications from artists to participate in the exhibition will be accepted until May 19. The pieces chosen for the exhibition show the artist’s opinion about the world around them and their experiences. To allow for safe viewing and social distancing, this year’s visitors will have to book an appointment for viewing the exhibits. Visitors can purchase the art at the exhibition.
All exhibits at this event will be recent and original. The judges are Susan Bridges, director of the contemporary art gallery Whitespace; noted artist Sanithna Phansavanh; and Maurita N. Poole, who is the curator and director of Clark Atlanta University Art Museum. The best entries will be awarded cash prizes and purchase awards. On the last day of the exhibition, selected artists will give a talk.
The exhibition will be held from May 25 to June 13 from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Dalton Gallery in the Dana Fine Arts Building at Agnes Scott College.
