The Dalton Gallery and Atlanta Printmakers studio are coming together to exhibit art from 15 artists.
Press Here: Atlanta Printmakers Process 2020 focuses on Printmaking as an artistic practice. As art often sheds light on current events, this exhibition shows the artists’ reflection on the unprecedented events during the past year.
Artists from the Atlanta Printmakers studio include females who use textile as a medium for their artistic expressions. The exhibits show how the artists have interpreted events in Atlanta during the past year and their message for the future. Printmaking is used for art, but it can also be used as a way to spread information inexpensively and quickly.
Press Here is also associated with Fashion Statements: Identity and East African Printed Textiles. This is an exhibition of kangas – a type of garment that can be used to celebrate events, holidays, or for voicing an opinion. Bringing together visual material from Africa and local artists is in line with Agnes Scott college’s vision to link Atlanta and the global community. Printing services near Decatur are often used to support such events.
The event began on March 13, and the exhibition will be on display until April 23. The venue is Dalton Gallery of Agnes Scott College at 141 East College Avenue, which is open from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
