Volunteers and staff have announced that Decatur will, once again, be hosting its annual International Festival. This festival allows local residents and businesses the chance to better get to know the various international backgrounds that comprise Decatur, as well as explore cultures and better meet other businesses in the area.
Past events have contained a variety of foods, drinks, and dancing. In 2023, opening acts included performances by Brazilian, Thai and Ukranian dancers, and this year’s event is expected to have a similar opening act. DJs will play international music throughout the event, giving attendees the chance to listen to musical numbers from cultures across the world.
As always, this event is family-friendly, and there will be plenty of activities for children. There will also be fireworks to close the festival in the evening.
The event will be held in March 2024. Officials have said that interested individuals should watch the website for more information. In the meantime, potential vendors and sponsors can check out the website for an application and to learn more about how to participate in this year’s event. As always, vendors will be given the opportunity to sell to customers and hand out Promotional Products about their business.
The event is free to attend. It will again take place at Decatur Square, which is located at 509 N McDonough Street, in Decatur.
