Decatur takes non-profit approach to bolstering gardens

Volunteers in Decatur are hosting a non-profit and garden outfitting event.

Legacy Community Day – to be held at Legacy Park – will allow local attendees the opportunity to understand and get to know the various non-profit organizations that serve the greater Decatur community. Booths and volunteers will be present throughout the park, no doubt handing out information and promotional materials on their various organizations. Individuals who attend the event will have the opportunity to collect this information and identify organizations for which they may want to volunteer in the future.

At the same time, the event will also feature the annual Decatur Garden Sale. Garden businesses will be present throughout the park, and attendees will have a chance to pick up supplies, plants, and flowers, enabling them to plant a garden in the warmer weather. At the same time, experts will be on hand to give advice and feedback on the best way to plant a garden.

This event is on Saturday, April 13, and will run from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. Legacy Park is located at 500 S. Columbia Drive, in Decatur. There is no price to attend this event, and no registration is required. All park amenities and facilities will be open, allowing locals the opportunity to check out the park and explore what it has to offer.
