Kellynn Beasley, a resident of Decatur, is one of the selections for a 2020 Summer Fellows program hosted by the Television Academy Foundation.
Beasley is studying marketing and film at Georgia State University. She went to Newton High School and worked at the Foundation’s summer program for scripted series development. Poster printing is often used to promote such TV shows.
The Television Academy Foundation’s yearly Internship Program usually sponsors 50 internships. The candidates are normally selected from top production companies and studios in Hollywood and sent to different colleges all over the county. This year though, the Television Academy Foundation was forced to change its usual procedures, and the 50 selected students will be able to take on the role of a Summer Fellow or allowed to work remotely.
Beasley was excited to have earned a spot on the program. She commented to say:
“I feel honored and very proud of myself to know that I was chosen for this fellowship. Being chosen for this fellowship is an extra push for me to strive for even grander feats in the future.”
Over the course of the program, Beasley will have access to personalized virtual meetings with professionals who are involved in the field the student is studying, seminars to help with building brands, and online panels held by big names in the industry. The Fellows will also get a lifetime membership to the alumni family of the Television Academy Foundation.
