Christmas thrift store spreads holiday cheer

With the holiday season well underway and people preparing for the big day itself, it is little surprise that folks from Snellville are on the lookout for bargains.

One Snellville store is providing just that – and all for charity.

With Christmas just days away now though, the poster and banner printing efforts of Place of Seven Springs have likely really been ramped up.

The store, which has many examples of festive Stationery printing, gifts and cards on the shelves, still surprises many though, with Place founder/owner Debbie Dowdin saying:

“Most people say, ‘I’ve never seen a thrift store that’s just Christmas.’”

The not-for-profit store, which provides vital support for people across Gwinnett County in times of need, is now in its second year. The operation runs through the year but Christmas is proving a vital time to raise vital funds.

Providing emergency housing, assistance with prescriptions and medical conditions, and a food bank, the store was created out of necessity and through the kindness of others. Dowdin explains that so many Christmas items are donated that a specific seasonal store became a possibility.

The main Place of Seven Springs thrift store is on a strip on U.S. Highway 78. Also the complex at which the Christmas store is located, opening hours for both stores run from 10:00 am through 5:00 pm Monday to Saturday.
