The Heart of Florida United Way is inviting Orlando area residents to join its “Over the Edge” fundraiser, which will help raise money for the charities "Mission United" program for military veterans who need assistance.
Participants who raise at least $1,000 can sign up to rappel down the Orlando Health Orlando Regional Medical Center, one of the city’s tallest buildings. Anyone interested in this one-of-a-kind opportunity is urged to raise their funds quickly to earn the chance to pick their desired time in this first come, first served event.
The Title Sponsor for the event, Lockheed Martin, is one of many area companies who support the event and will have volunteers on site to help raise funds for Mission United. Businesses could use Print shops to obtain Promotional Products and Corporate Gifts for events like this as a thank you to their employees for volunteering.
There are a few restrictions on who can rappel down the hospitals 15 story structure so those interested are encouraged to read through the requirements. As there are only 76 rappel spots available, participants must put down a non-refundable $100 deposit to secure their spot. They also need to raise their minimum $1,000 donation by this Friday, May 3.
The event will be held on Saturday, May 11 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The Orlando Regional Medical Center is located in downtown Orlando.
