H Mart, a popular Asian supermarket chain, is now open in Orlando.
The market is in the Pine Hills neighborhood of Orlando on West Colonial Drive. It spans 100,000 square feet and features a live seafood area and large section for produce. The aisles are filled with a wide selection of spices, sauces, noodles and ingredients for both everyday cooking and making Asian meals. There is also a spacious food court that is akin to a restaurant.
Such new markets can take advantage of brochure printing to highlight their special offerings, features, and weekly specials.
Brian Kwon, president of H Mart, said that this is only the first phase and the next phase will not take as long to come to fruition as this one did. The store has created 125 new jobs and is expected to bring more business and shoppers to the area, being a major economic boost to the neighborhood.
H Mart is the pioneer of Asian food in America and its largest Asian supermarket chain. Woodside, Queens, New York was its first single store location that opened in 1982 and it now has close to 100 stores across the United States.
The National Retail Federation recognizes H Mart as one its fastest growing retailers and Supermarket News has listed it as one of the Top 50 Independents and Small Chains in Canada and the United States.
