The upcoming iJam music festival will bring a number of popular acts from past and present to Orlando, with the goal being to benefit local environmental organization Clean the World.
The one-day festival will focus on Caribbean and reggae-influenced music. The headlining act will be Sean Paul, a frequent Grammy nominee whose work blends hip-hop and reggae. Paul has performed alongside pop megastars like Beyonce and Sia. Other performing artists include ska veterans Less than Jake; legacy reggae group Morgan Heritage, composed of eight children of the legendary reggae musician Denroy Morgan; ‘90s hitmakers the Baha Men; and the iconic Marcia Griffiths, also known as the Queen of Reggae.
Music festivals have become a popular pastime in South Florida, particularly those focused on Caribbean music. Festivals like these are often advertised with colourful poster printing and flyer printing.
iJam looks to distinguish itself from other festivals both through its lineup and its association with a local good cause. Founded in 2009, Clean the World is a Florida-based benefit corporation which recycles hotel soap and amenities and redistributes them to people in needs. This has saved 16 million pounds of waste and contributed over 45 million bars of soap have been donated to children and families in 127 countries.
The iJam Music Festival will take place on April 4 at Tinker Field in Orlando.
