Orlando will be home to the new corporate headquarters and state-of-the-art manufacturing center of automotive components for VOXX International Corporation.
Its executive headquarters in New York has already begun the move to the new facility. The community will see an addition of 134 jobs and an investment of $16.5m.
VOXX selected Orlando for its pool of talent, business friendly climate, and proximity to major transportation hubs. The facility, which will be 115,000 square feet in size, will produce automotive entertainment systems and products.
According to president and CEO of VOXX International, Pat Lavelle, this move is important for the company as it will enable VOXX to combine all its automotive original equipment business and domestic production into one entity. He adds that Florida has a pro-business climate and an excellent location, and this will enable the company to also grow over the next several years and bring more integrated solutions to the market.
Jesse Panuccio, Executive Director of the Department of Economic Opportunity, suggested that this is a win-win situation for both the local economy and the state, as VOXX will add value to both the IT and manufacturing sectors in Florida and be an important asset to these industries.
