Jacksonville looks like a million dollars next week

A Broadway musical will be in Jacksonville next week for eight performances only, and will offer evening and matinee shows of a tale of secrets, betrayal, and broken promises.

‘Million Dollar Quartet’ is suitable for all ages and is accompanied by musical numbers. Promoters are likely to have done their utmost to reach out to the community using brochure and poster printing.

The story is based on a night that brought together many of the rock and roll legends for a recording session, including Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash, and Elvis Presley, back on December 4, 1956. Sam Phillips, known as the “father of rock and roll”, was instrumental in making this happen.

The audience will enjoy such favorites as ‘Hound Dog’, ‘Folsom Prison Blues’, ‘Sixteen Tons’, ‘Who Do You Love?’, and ‘Great Balls of Fire’. This story is filled with celebration, deception, secrets, and promises being reneged upon.

Tickets for this event range in price, depending on the seating selected when purchased. The show will be staged from Tuesday, April 22 to Sunday, April 27, at 2:00 pm for matinees and 8:00 pm for evening performance, at the Jacksonville’s Times-Union Center located at 300 Water Street in the downtown core.

The venue’s website has more info on the show, and tickets can be bought by visiting it or calling the box office at 904-633-6110.
