Jacksonville goes to oddities expo

World Oddities Expo Jacksonville – an all-inclusive small business- and artisan-fueled convention that features vendors, educators, artists, and guest speakers – is coming next month.

The showroom floor will be packed with small businesses, as well as artists selling items such as jewelry, clothing, art prints, photography, candles, crystals, ceramics, dolls, and Books. There will be interactive entertainment, and the Lost Curio Marketplace will offer home decor, taxidermy, and macabre art.

Villain Arts will be presenting the Oddity Ink Parlors, and WOE Labs will have professionals giving hands-on workshops in butterfly pinning, diorama terrariums, owl pellet dissections, and jackalope and rat taxidermy. Prices for these range from $20 to $400.

Unique guest speakers at the theater stage will be speaking on a variety of topics, and the stage will also have live music, dance, and painting entertainment.

Guests are invited to wear costumes. People who attend expos dressed in unique and unusual attire often have pictures taken during the event, which they may take to nearby Print shops for family Calendars and newsletters.

General admission tickets are $20. VIP passes will be $25 and will include early admission. Children 12 and under will get in for free.

World Oddities Expo Jacksonville will take place at the Prime F. Osborn III Convention Center, 1000 Water Street on Saturday, July 19 from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm. VIP access will begin an hour earlier at 10:00 am.
