The Jacksonville neighborhood known as Historic Springfield, will once again be playing host to Jacksonville's PorchFest coming in early November.
This unique music event takes place on the front porches of the people who live in the neighborhood and also in some of its parks. In addition to the plethora of live music, vendors will also be selling food and beverages from trucks and vans. There will also be a kiosks, tents and other structures set up to sell art and other merchandise. People of all ages are welcome to attend, and can bring along their pets as well, so long as they are on a leash.
Vendors at events such as this often have local Print shops imprint their logos or business's graphic designs on their paper products.
Due to its unique nature, there is no cost to attend. That being said, event organizers will be looking for donations which will go to support Springfield Preservation and Revitalization and the PorchFest Public Arts Initiative. Donations can also be made online by visiting the SPAR website. Organizers of the event are also looking to attract sponsors to pay the performers. For those looking for a more relaxed and comfortable experience, tickets can be purchased that allow for sitting in private shaded areas--prices vary depending on venue.
The organizers of the event are also looking for volunteers to help things run smoothly. Volunteers will be given commemorative T-Shirts.
Porchfest will take place Saturday, November 8th, from noon to 8:00 pm.
