The Jacksonville Zoo and Botanical Gardens has a busy schedule for the end of March and all of April.
Manatee Celebration Day will be a day of manatee rescue demonstrations and a view of the manatees in their new Manatee River habitat. The event will be free with general admission to the zoo and there will be interactive family-friendly activities at the VYStar SkyScape entrance.
Manatees Celebration Day will take place from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm March 28th.
Nature's Newbie, March 31st at 9:00 am and April 1st beginning at 11:15 am, will be a 45-minute class geared to 1-to-3-year old's that will encourage exploration through story book readings, songs, close-up encounters with live zoo animals and free-choice unstructured play stations.
Zoo Tots on April 2nd at 9:00 am and April 4th at noon will be an hour-long experience for 3-to-5-year-olds. Activities will include games, lessons, animal encounters and take-home crafts.
Zoo members are invited to a special Bunny Bash with cupcakes, free pictures with the Easter Bunny, and Easter-themed crafts. Four one-hour long time slots begin at 10:00 am and end at 2:00 pm April 4th. Tickets are $30 per person.
The zoo is located at 370 Zoo Parkway in Jacksonville.
