Clermont theaters come roaring back in January

Clermont’s Black Box and Main Stage theaters, 3700 S. Hwy 27, will be roaring back with live in-person shows during this month.

This Friday, January 8, beginning at 2:00 pm, the Black Box Theater will present the “100th Anniversary of the Roaring 20s.” Charlie Grinker, a Peabody Award and Emmy winner, will reminisce about the jazz age with stories of the era’s icons, such as Babe Ruth, Cole Porter, Al Jolson, R. Scott Fitzgerald, Duke Ellington, Coco Chanel, and Josephine Baker. Tickets will be $10.75 each.

Later that evening at 8:00 pm, the theater will present “Fuggedaboutit: A Mob Murder Mystery.” This show will be an interactive evening in the setting of 1929 Florida, with a mob family, big boss, delinquents, local criminals, and a surprise betrayer. Tickets are $15 each.

Main Stage performances start on January 16 at 8:00 pm with A Fleetwood Mac Tribute. Five musicians called ‘Tusk’, taking their name from the 1979 Mac album, will be recreating the iconic group note for note as they perform their greatest hits. Tickets range from $20 to $35.

“Stars of the Sixties” will be on Friday, January 29 at 3:00 pm, and again at 7:30 pm. Gary Puckett & the Union Gap, and Buckingham’s lead singer Dennis Tufano, will be joined by new-comer Chris Ruggiero. They will present a one-night show of vintage 1960s hits such as “Young Girl,” “Over You,” and “Kind of a Drag.” Tickets will range from $48.93 to $75.38.
