Clermont's annual Pig on the Pond Community Festival is expecting over 20,000 attendees at this year's 3-day event coming in late March.
Presented by the 501(c)(3) nonprofit Project Scholars, the festivities will include live entertainment, a kid's zone, a carnival, fireworks and sponsored activities. Both food and nonfood vendors and local nonprofits will have items to sell. Food will include pork BBQ plus other pork-themed goodies.
One of the event highlights will be the 5th annual Junior Grillmasters Competition where middle school and high school students get to show off their grilling expertise. There will be two separate categories for middle and high schoolers. Each team will be comprised of one parent and one child with the child doing all the preparation and cooking. Judges will be evaluating tenderness, grilling techniques, presentation, taste and execution. All entrants will receive medals and will get to take their grills home. Each category winner will receive a $100 Publix Gift Card, a trophy and a goodie bag. Entry into the competition will be free.
Many events like this that include cooking competitions often have nearby Print shops Print the event's Logo Design on their paper products like napkins, straws, aprons, plates, etc.
Proceeds from the event will go toward college scholarships for students in need.
Pig on the Pond will take place March 27th from 5:00 pm to March 29th at 5:00 pm at Clermont's Waterfront Park, 330 3rd Street. Admission will be free.
