Newtown to offer class on cybercrimes

Street Cop Training will be holding a course in Newtown to teach people about the dark web and online criminals.

Dark Web and Cyber Crimes Investigation is a lesson that demystifies the dark web by familiarizing attendees with how it operates. The dark web is the name for the parts of the internet that require specific authority or software in order to be accessed.

Topics covered in the class include cryptocurrency transactions, dark web shipments, and markets found on the dark net. The instructor will teach students what common identifiers to look for when investigating cybercriminals and how local police officers can respond to the crimes. The lesson will also go over encryption applications and how officers can use the dark web.

The presenter for the course will be Keven Hendricks, a detective who has been working as a police officer since 2007. He is a member of the USSS NJ Cyber Fraud Task Force and was assigned to the Internet Crimes Against Children task force. Hendricks has also presented at the Joint Criminal Opioid Darknet Enforcement conference. His published Books educate readers on how to investigate malicious phone calls.

The dark web investigation class will take place on August 9th from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. The lesson will be held at MAGLOCLEN in Suite 100. Those interested in taking the course must pay $225 to register. Businesses that offer training sessions such as this can pass out promotional Pens to students to improve their brand familiarity.
