Soroptimist International of Indian Rock, Inc. (SIIR) is hosting its sixth annual career conference for girls this March.
Dream It, Be It will offer sessions on career exploration, goal setting and overcoming obstacles. It is designed to help girls in high school discover their options and develop skills that they can apply to any of their educational and career goals. The one-day conference will include interactive activities and guest speakers. Attendees will meet women working in a variety of fields and hear about their backgrounds and experience.
The conference is free to attend, but space is limited to 40 participants. Registration information is available on the Soroptimist International website. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Depending on demand, bus transportation may be available from Bristol, Warminster and Bensalem. All attendees will receive a dream box, a journal for tracking their goals and a participation certificate. Organizations often work with Stationery printers to create these certificates.
SIIR is the Newtown-based chapter of an international organization that offers scholarships, awards and community outreach programs to support girls’ education. The local group was founded in 1972 and meets monthly to work on planning and fundraising for the Dream It, Be It conference and other programs.
Dream It, Be It: Career Support for Girls will take place on Saturday, March 7, from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm at Spring Mill Country Club.
