Fundraising 5K to return to Newtown

The 14th Annual Bookin’ for Lookin’ 5k is taking place in Newtown this spring.

The race starts at Council Rock North High School and loops through Tyler Park before finishing back at the school. There will be snacks, music, and Starbucks coffee at the start/finish area. All runners will receive a race T-shirt, a finisher medal, and a raffle ticket. Raffle prizes will include gift cards and running-themed merchandise.

Participants need to register online, the fee for which is $38.45 now or $43.80 on the week of the race. Families can also sign up as a group for $108. Participants should sign up by April 12 to guarantee a T-shirt in their preferred size. The race will go on rain or shine, and refunds will not be issued. Organizers often use poster printing services to promote this type of race.

Proceeds from the race will go to the Bucks County Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired (BCABVI), which provides individual rehabilitation and support services for individuals experiencing blindness or low vision. It also carries out education and community outreach work about vision loss and eye diseases. The race organizers’ goal is to raise at least $20,000 for BCABVI each year.

The 5K will take place on Sunday, April 26, starting at 8:30 am, at Council Rock North High School in Newtown.
