Newtown is hosting its 10th annual Black & White Dinner to support Newtown Theatre this September.
During the dinner, the organizers close North State Street and set up a single long table for 1,000 guests. Diners bring their own food and drinks, and a jazz band will play. The event will conclude with a sparkler salute at 8:00 pm. Attendees can cook their own meals at home or order takeout from nearby local restaurants.
Tickets are available on the Newtown Theatre’s website now. The price is $44.99 for general admission and $34.99 for theatre members. Local arts institutions often use poster printing services to promote their fundraisers. Seating is unreserved, but the first member of a group to arrive is welcome to save seats. Attendees should bring their tickets, either printed or on a mobile device.
To support the Old Hollywood-inspired atmosphere, guests are asked to wear all black and/or white clothing. They do not need to dress formally, and creativity is encouraged. Awards for the best dressed in several categories will be presented at the end of the night. Attendees are also encouraged to bring their own black and white table decorations, and awards will be given for the most elegant and most creative.
The Newtown Black & White Dinner will be on Sunday, September 6 starting at 6:30 pm. Dinners can arrive and reserve seats starting at 5:30 pm.
