Newtown community college to host bluegrass concert

Two bluegrass groups are playing at the Zlock Performing Arts Center in Newtown this summer.

The afternoon starts with a free bluegrass jam session. Anyone interested is invited to bring their instruments to the lobby at 3 pm. The lobby bar will also open at that time. Long Acre Hollow, the local opening act, will take the stage at 4 pm. The headline performer The Dirty Grass Players will go on at 5 pm. The band is based in Baltimore and was formed in 2015. They describe their style and approach as forward-looking and boundary-pushing while still reflecting the traditions of the bluegrass genre. The organizers expect the performances to be enjoyable for both dedicated bluegrass fans and those new to the genre.

The Zlock Performing Arts Center is part of Bucks County Community College and hosts both student showcases and other music and theater performances. Concert tickets are available on the Zlock Center’s website for $27 each, which includes processing fees. Tickets are free for current Bucks students with a valid student ID. Parking near the theater is free. Arts organizations often use poster printing services to promote their concerts and other events.

The Dirty Grass Players concert will take place on Sunday, August 24 starting at 3 pm at the Zlock Performing Arts Center on the Newtown Campus of Bucks County Community College.
