The annual Tent Weekend will soon be held by the Second Congregational Church in Greenwich, as a way to celebrate the spring season and the onset of warmer weather.
No doubt the organisation is using flyer printing to let the community become aware of this free event, which is open to the public.
All of the activities are on the lawn of the main building or under a tent behind it, and according to the Senior Minister, Reverend Maxwell Grant, it is a tradition which everyone looks forward to – particularly after this year’s long winter.
The weekend begins on Friday, June 6th with an original student show, where the youth have the chance to perform their own original music, with audio-visual features and innovative staging. Jazz favorites and standards will also be performed by the Greenwich High School Jazz Band.
On the afternoon of Saturday, June 7th, there will be a penny carnival with face painting, games, and a ‘dunk tank’. Refreshments will include popcorn and ice cream. After the carnival, there will be a performance by the Bossy Frog Band, which is an interactive act that encourages children to move, sing, dance, imagine, and have fun.
The weekend ends on Sunday, June 8th, with a picnic providing refreshments, activities, and fun for the entire family.
