Later this month, Jack Devine, Acting Director for the CIA, will be at the Greenwich Hyatt Regency Hotel for a breakfast speaking about what really goes on in the organization, sponsored by the Family Centers.
With espionage stories featuring fictional characters such as Jack Ryan and James Bond remaining popular, the event is hoped to appeal to those interested in the Central Intelligence Agency and how it really operates.
During the meeting, Devine will discuss his perspective on the role of the CIA in the Iran-Contra affair, the Afghani conflict against Soviets, and the fall of Salvador Allende in Chile. He will also talk about the internal side of the agency.
Device has been with the CIA for more than three decades and has been involved in planning, organizing, and carrying out numerous sensitive programs in almost all fields of intelligence.
The breakfast will be held on Friday, December 12, at 7:30 am with the price of tickets starting at $100. Proceeds of the breakfast will go towards the programs provided by Family Centers provide, which include support and counseling to individuals and families who are in the midst of a crisis.
