Special dog event returns to Greenwich

The Roger Sherman Baldwin Park in Greenwich will be the site for the returning event Puttin’ on the Dog later this month.

Featured at the event will be parades of dogs that are able to be adopted, entertaining competitions, a scavenger hunt, various demonstrations, and many more activities.

Sponsors of the event include Cornell University Veterinary Specialists, XPO Logistics, Natural Nutmeg, and WEBE 108 FM radio.

Puttin’ on the Dog is presented by Adopt-A-Dog. This nonprofit organization headquartered in Greenwich was established in 1981 by three residents of Greenwich who were concerned about the increasing number of abandoned animals found in local shelters. After successfully being able to find permanent homes for both cats and dogs, the organization acquired a former veterinary clinic in Armonk, New York and now has a staff of 15 people. The team works to educate the community about animal welfare.

Puttin’ on the Dog serves as a fundraiser for the organization, and events like these often use poster printing to promote themselves and their fundraising efforts.

The event will be held Sunday September 16 from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm. The cost to attend is $18 per person with a special ticket package of $30 for two people. The cost for seniors is $8 and there is no charge for children under the age of 10 if they are accompanied by a parent or guardian.
