Sailing school in Greenwich to offer summer courses

The Tod's Point Sailing School (TPSS) in Greenwich has opened registration for its summer sessions.

The mission of TPSS is to broaden public access to the Long Island Sound through a range of sailing classes for both adults and young people. It also offers boat rentals. TPSS considers the teaching of boating and water safety to be a priority, as well as to learn and have fun in the water.

Local Print shops can help spread the word about such courses with Flyers and Brochures that can be disseminated throughout the community.

The Junior Program of the TPSS is for those between the ages of 9 and 16. It is the signature course of the organization and consists of a core curriculum of four progressive courses that last two weeks. Completing the core curriculum entitles those in attendance to four diplomas after completing 120 hours of instruction.

There are also Just for Fun courses, which are offered in sessions that last one week and are more like camps in that there is no reading, little time in the classroom, and no diplomas. These courses are almost entirely hands-on.

Several adult courses are offered for those who are 17 years old and older. These include basic, intermediate, and advanced courses, as well as courses on paddling and an introduction to catamarans.
