Large eatery to come to Greenwich

The Greenwich Planning and Zoning Commission has approved a large restaurant near the top of Greenwich Avenue.

It will be within Pickwick Plaza and will be on the ground floor of Building 3. Pickwick Plaza is a retail and office complex and spans 280,000 square feet. The restaurant will have 132 seats for indoor dining, eight at a seafood counter, 10 at the bar, and 60 seats outdoors during the warmer months.

The Commission discussed utilizing parking for the restaurant at the Plaza. It found that there would be a satisfactory number of spaces at the garage for guests and guests should be encouraged to park at the garage as it has an elevator. The restaurant will have two stations for hosts; one will be for customers accessing the restaurant from the lobby of the elevator and another for those coming from Greenwich Avenue. To avoid additional parking issues, the restaurant will limit the number of people attending special events to 100 on weekdays.

Such proposed eateries can turn to local Print shops to help with communications for marketing regarding offerings and ease of parking.

The Commission suggested listing the address of the new restaurant as 3 Pickwick Plaza rather than 1-3 Greenwich Avenue to encourage customers to associate the new eatery with the Plaza rather than Greenwich Avenue and so park in the garage rather than on the street.
