The India Cultural Center of Greenwich, the Department of Parks and Recreation of Greenwich, and The Greenwich Arts Council are once again hosting the Greenwich Kite Flying Festival. This is an annual event and will be held at Greenwich Point Beach.
The day is designed for families and celebrates the ending of the winter season, while also combining the arts, culture, and recreation in the festivities. At the beach, lunch will be served as well as live music for entertainment. Those who wish to attend need just to bring a kite to fly. The goal is to have colorful, fun, and creative kites at the festival, as all those who bring one will receive a ribbon for their participation.
There will be a raffle for Gift Certificates donated by Smart Kids Toys. A demonstration and instruction on the patang, which is a popular Indian fighter kite, will be provided by the India Cultural Center.
The event will take place on Saturday April 21 with check in at the Old Cow Barn beginning at 11:00 am. A rain date has been set for the next day beginning at 11:30 am.
Print shops can be hired to create Posters and Flyers that can be displayed throughout the community promoting such events, and including more details about dates, times, activities, and special giveaways.
