Seven schools in Greenwich have been recognized by the State Department of Education as schools of distinction. This means that they have differentiated themselves in many areas, including academic growth.
The seven schools are North Mianus School, International School at Dundee (ISD), North Street School, Parkway School, Eastern Middle School (EMS), Hamilton Avenue School, and Riverside School. Such schools may look to engage students in poster printing and other printing services to announce such news throughout their school community.
The Next Generation Accountability System was used to select these schools based on their performance in the 2022-2023 academic year. There are 12 indicators in the system that include academics, access to arts, absenteeism, and staying on track for graduation, and these are used to determine how well schools prepare students for the future.
ISD and EMS were recognized for high academic growth among their students while Riverside, Parkway, North Street, ISD, and North Mianus were also recognized for their high academic growth and high performance.
Superintendent Toni Jones expressed delight and excitement that there are seven such schools this year. Jones added that all seven schools were recognized for their academic growth which is an important part of the district’s strategic plan.
The Greenwich Public Schools have received multiple recognitions as schools of distinction with six in the 2018-19 school year and seven the year before.
