Dr. Jill Gildea, Superintendent of Schools, and Ralph Mayo, incoming Interim Superintendent of Greenwich, recently announced that three administrators in the Greenwich Public Schools (GPS) will become assistant principals at three elementary schools in the district.
Gildea said that this effort will enable schools to experience people with different leadership styles and the leaders to experience different communities and sizes of schools. It will enable professional growth for these assistant principals so that each can bring their unique skills and strengths to the various schools.
Beginning with the 2018-2019 academic year, the new Assistant Principals will be Michael Reid at the Cos Cob School; Barbara Oxer at the Glenville School; and Kathleen Ramirez at the North Street School.
Reid has been an elementary school teacher with the GPS since 2006 and served as an instructional coach from 2015 to 2017. Since July 2017, he has been the Assistant Principal at the North Street School.
Oxer began her teaching career in 2002 at the Old Greenwich School. Since 2012, she has been the Assistant Principal at the Cos Cob School. Ramirez began teaching fourth grade in 2006 for the GPS and has been the Assistant Principal at the Glenville School since July 2017.
Poster printing could be used by such school systems to be displayed in the schools to make such announcements.
