Assistant principal joins middle school in Greenwich

Lauren Showstead has been appointed as assistant principal at the Central Middle School (CMS) in Greenwich. Showstead is replacing Lindsey Pontieri who left the Greenwich Public Schools (GPS) to take the position of assistant director of special education in another school district.

The entire CMS community will be supported by Showstead who will assist in the development and achievement of the objectives and goals of the school and foster a safe and positive environment while advocating for all students at the school.

Showstead expressed her delight in taking on the position of assistant principal at CMS. She said that essential to fostering student learning and individual growth is building relationships through respect, communication, and support for staff, students, and their families. She added that during her many years in education she has celebrated the successes of all learners and helped them to learn from their mistakes. Showstead also said she is looking forward to using her skills, experience, and knowledge as well as her passion for education as she begins this new role. New roles often afford the need for business card printing services.

Dr. Toni Jones, Superintendent of GPS, said that Showstead has been an inspiration to the Greenwich community since she joined the GPS in 2006. Thomas Healy, principal of CMS, expressed his excitement about welcoming Showstead to the team.
