The Greenwich Public Schools has recently been honored the College Board as one of 547 school districts in Canada and the United States named on the fifth annual AP District Honor Roll.
The Honor Roll is a recognition of those school districts where there has been in increase in Advanced Placement (AP) coursework, and where the percent of students who earn a score of three or greater on the AP exams has straight the same or increased.
William S. McKersie, Superintendent of the Greenwich Public Schools, commented that he is proud to be the leader of a district where students are encouraged to challenge themselves academically. Even though the district is a high-performing one, he added that it continues to improve itself and has worked hard to increase the number of students in Advanced Placement courses and prepare them, so they can take and pass the requisite exam.
Trevor Packer, the senior vice president of AP and Instruction for the College Board, added that it is the students who are benefiting from the efforts of the teachers and administrators in the district.
It is likely that the school district has turned to printing services to create a mailer that can be sent to the parents of students and the rest of the community informing them of this binational honor.
