The concert will feature sea shanties, folk, and other maritime music from throughout the New England region. There will be a live and silent auction featuring nautical items donated from local businesses and other supporters. Attendees can also donate their own items such as Books, CDs, jewelry, and instruments that fit the theme of sea music to put on the auction block
The fundraiser will feature performers Cliff Haslam, Lee Murdoch, Nicole Singer and Rick & Donna Nestler. The fundraiser is a pay-what-you can event, with a suggested donation of $20. Fundraisers like this often use methods like poster printing and radio advertising to help attract local music lovers.
Proceeds from admission, silent auctions, and other donations will go towards staging the full Festival in Essex, Connecticut from June 12 to 15 later this year. The announced lineup for this year’s festival includes Bounding Main, The Dreadnoughts, and Ship’s Company. The festival says that it is:
“produced by the Maritime Music & Tradition Society to foster group song.”
The 2026 Connecticut Sea Music Festival Annual Spring Benefit Concert & Auction will take place on the afternoon of April 11 at Powder Mill Barn in Enfield.
