The Enfield Public Library is bustling with activity as the summer fades out
Self-published author Ursula Dukes will be at the library on September 14 at 7:00 pm for a meet-and-greet. Her work focuses on interracial relationships in a romantic and suspenseful setting.
Crime drama website Cyclopaedia.net contains her novel ‘Witness Protection’, and attendees who like what they see can buy a copy of one of her Books for her to sign. The event is free but participants are encouraged to register at the circulation desk.
Android=powered Playaway Launchpad tablets are also ready for patrons to checkout and use at the central library branch. Uploaded onto the tablets are games and apps for children to learn and play at the same time. Children and their parents can browse the gadgets for apps to suit their learning needs. The tablets do not allow users to add extra content, so students can stay safe while on them. Each user can design their avatar and play games with different themes, while usage data is recorded for the benefit of teachers and parents.
Libraries use business Forms to keep track of electronics rented out to patrons. They include the patron's name, library number, the date, and the number assigned to the device the patron will rent out. Patrons who are under the age of 18 must have their parents sign the form to be responsible for the device.
