July 4 celebration just around the bend

The 30th Annual Enfield Fourth of July on Enfield’s Town Green is coming soon, and everyone in town will no doubt want to experience the three-day free event to celebrate our nation’s independence.

The first night’s entertainment will include Back-Fire, The Robert Cray Band, and John Hiatt and the Combo. The second night will feature The Savage Brothers, Marshal Tucker Band, Dickey Betts, and Great Southern. Wrapping things up on the last night will be David Foster and the Mohegan Sun All-stars, the Hartford Symphony Orchestra, and, of course, the traditional Zambelli Family Fireworks spectacular.

The Children’s Activity area will include a nine-hole mini golf course, soccer games, bounce houses, Lego Duplo Discovery Zone, and contests in pie eating and spaghetti eating. Local restaurants will be presenting The Taste of Enfield by offering local cuisine at booths along the Concourse. Local printing companies are bound to already be busy fulfilling flyer and banner printing services for the occasion.

There will also be a parade and the Hartford Courant/Enfield Extra 5k Twilight Road Race, as well as a 1K kid race on the second night. For older kids, The Teen Zone will present Suffield Music Battle of the Bands.

The celebration will run July 11, 12, and 13. A free shuttle bus service will be available on each of the days.
